Web design and SEO in Moline, Illinois
WestRed Digital, a two-person web design and SEO company based in Silvis, Illinois, builds websites for businesses in Moline, Illinois, and helps them get found on Google. We don't have a Moline office, so we come to you.
Two of us, based in Silvis
Silvis and Moline are both in Rock Island County, on the Illinois side of the river. Your first contact is Brock Reddish, who handles sales. Caleb Westerman builds the sites and does the SEO, with 7+ years as a senior SEO engineer at a digital marketing agency. Websites and SEO come first, and we also manage email campaigns, social media, Google Business Profiles, and Google, Facebook and Instagram ads.
We started in 2026, so we don't have past client work or references to show you yet. What we can offer is a plan and a price in writing before any work starts. Nothing goes live until you've seen it, and your domain, site, Google profile and logins stay in your business's name.
One ZIP covers most of Moline
The Census Bureau's 2020 boundary data puts about 92% of Moline's land area inside ZIP 61265, so the city is easy to aim ads at. Google Ads lets you target Moline or 61265 directly. It also lists a Moline in Michigan, so make sure yours says Illinois. On your website, write "Moline, IL," not just "Moline."
What brings people to Moline
Deere & Company's world headquarters is in Moline. So are the Quad Cities International Airport, Vibrant Arena, Black Hawk College and WIU-Quad Cities. Each one brings in people who don't live in Moline.
Someone in town for one of those may not know where you are, so your Google Business Profile does more of the work. Get the primary category right (that's the main label Google files you under). Keep your hours accurate on event nights. Add a photo of the outside so people can find the door.
John Deere Road is filling back in
ALDI opened in the former Hy-Vee building off John Deere Road in October 2025, and Five Below, Ulta Beauty and Burlington opened in and around the same building by March 2026. A Texas Roadhouse broke ground just north of John Deere Road in August 2026 and plans to open in May 2027, WVIK reported. If you sell what they sell, those national names can show up for the same searches you do.
Google says its local results are based mainly on relevance, distance and how well known a business is. Next to a chain, distance doesn't separate you, and the chain usually starts out better known. So start with relevance, meaning how closely you match the search. That takes a primary category that names exactly what you do, services in your customers' words, and a page on your site for each one.
Downtown and Moline Centre
If you're downtown, check whether you're inside the Moline Centre program area. Merchants there can join the Moline Centre Program at no out-of-pocket cost. It coordinates downtown marketing and seasonal events like the Holiday Hop, and each event is a real reason to post on your Google profile.
Downtown is set to gain neighbors, too. WVIK reported from the mayor's 2026 State of the City address that the city had completed development deals for 177 new housing units downtown, with 105 more in design and slated to start construction later in 2026 and early 2027. Those residents will be searching from close by, and Google counts distance, so get your listing complete and accurate before they move in.
The Iowa side is one bridge away
The I-74 bridge runs between Moline and Bettendorf, and people cross the river for small savings. When gas was cheaper on the Iowa side in May 2026, an Illinois resident told KWQC, "I live and work in Illinois. I come over on my lunch to Iowa. Just that little bit makes a difference, believe it or not."
So decide on purpose whether you want Iowa customers. If you do, say so on your website and add Bettendorf and Davenport to your ad targeting. If you don't, keep your ads on the Illinois side so you aren't paying for clicks you can't use. Our Quad Cities digital marketing page covers the rest of the metro.
Who shows up for SEO in Moline
We ran two searches in October 2026, not on Google and not set to any location. For "SEO Moline IL," every agency page that came back belonged to a firm based outside the Quad Cities, some in other states. For "web designer Moline IL," about half the results came from designers in or near the Quad Cities. A Google search made from Moline may show different names.
A firm's page can have Moline in its title without the firm being anywhere near Moline. Before you hire anyone, find out which city they work from, whether they'll come to you, and which references you can call. For more questions to ask any firm, including us, see our guide to choosing a local SEO company.
First steps for a Moline business
- Search the way your customers do
Your main services plus "Moline IL," on a phone. Who's in the map and below it: local competitors, chains, directories, or nobody useful?
- Clean up your Google profile
Category, hours, photos and service areas, plus posts around downtown events if you're in Moline Centre.
- Give each service its own page
One page per thing you sell, describing where you are the way customers would, like "on John Deere Road." If the site itself is the problem, we'll start with website design.
- Point the ads at the right Moline
If you run Google Ads: Moline, Illinois or 61265, the Iowa side only if you want it, and never Michigan.
Those four steps are the start of local SEO (showing up in Google Maps and in searches from people nearby), and our SEO work on the site builds from there. To begin, send your website address and a sentence about your business to hello@westreddigital.com, or use the contact form. You'll hear back within one business day. The review is free, and we won't promise you a ranking.
Questions
Common questions
How do I make sure my Google Ads reach Moline, Illinois, and not Moline, Michigan?
Google Ads lists both, so check that the location you choose says Illinois before the campaign starts. You can also target ZIP 61265, which takes in about 92% of Moline's land area according to the Census Bureau's 2020 boundary data. If you want Bettendorf and Davenport too, add them, or use a radius around your business.
Do the national chains on John Deere Road make it harder for a local business to show up?
Yes, for anything they also sell, because they're close by and start out better known. Google says its local results are based mainly on relevance, distance and how well known a business is, and next to a chain the distance is the same. A local business competes by matching searches more closely, with a primary category that names exactly what it does, services in its customers' words and a page for each one, and by earning real reviews from real customers over time.
Does it cost anything to join the Moline Centre Program?
There's no out-of-pocket cost for merchants inside the downtown program area, whether they own the business or the property. Check the program map on the Moline Centre website to see whether you're inside it. Renew Moline runs the program with the city and the Moline Centre Main Street Commission. It coordinates downtown marketing and seasonal events, and those events give you real news to post on your Google Business Profile and your social pages.
Why do out-of-town firms show up when I search for SEO in Moline?
Many marketing firms publish a page for each city they want work from, wherever they're based. When we searched "SEO Moline IL" in October 2026 (not on Google, and not set to any location), every agency page in the results came from a firm outside the Quad Cities, though a Google search made from Moline may show different names. Either way, ask any firm where it's based, whether someone will come to your business, and which references you can call.
