Web design and SEO in Bettendorf, Iowa
WestRed Digital is a two-person website design and SEO business based in Silvis, Illinois, that serves businesses in Bettendorf, Iowa. We don't have an office in Bettendorf, but we'll meet you there in person.
Who you'd work with
Brock Reddish handles sales, so he's the first person you'll hear from. Caleb Westerman, who has 7+ years as a senior SEO engineer at a digital marketing agency, designs the websites and handles the SEO. We also run Google Ads, Facebook and Instagram ads, email campaigns and social media. We started WestRed in 2026 and work from Silvis, across the river from Bettendorf.
What's different about Bettendorf right now
It's the one that's growing. Of the six cities we cover, only Bettendorf has grown since 2020. The Census Bureau's 2025 estimate puts it at 40,710 people, about 1,600 more than in 2020. The city's 2026 State of the City address also counted 114 new houses and townhouses and 103 new apartments between February 2025 and February 2026. Anyone new to town still has to pick a dentist, a mechanic and a takeout place, and your Google Business Profile (the listing that shows up in Google Maps) and your website may be the first look they get at you.
Visitors who don't know the area. Bettendorf's 2026 State of the City address reported 1.5 million visits to the TBK Bank Sports Complex area in 2025. For 2019 through 2025, it named Cedar Rapids-Waterloo-Iowa City-Dubuque, Chicago and Des Moines-Ames as the top regions for out-of-town visitors, and said 55 percent of visits included an overnight stay. Those visitors may pick where to eat, sleep, fill up or shop on a phone, often in a town they barely know. And competition is growing: a hotel and three places to eat and drink opened around the complex in 2025.
Road work around I-80 and Middle Road. The Iowa Department of Transportation started rebuilding the I-80 and Middle Road interchange in November 2025, and it expects to close the westbound I-80 on-ramp for three to four months starting in spring 2027. The city's 2026 construction list also includes a trail ahead of a Middle Road widening. If your business is out there, the way people reach you may change more than once. The city also expects QCR Holdings to open in that corridor in 2027, so more people may be working nearby.
Two local groups worth knowing. The Downtown Bettendorf Organization, on Grant Street, keeps a directory of downtown businesses. The Bettendorf Business Network lets anyone in business in Bettendorf join as a participating member at no cost, and it holds three networking events a month. Google's help page on local ranking says one factor is how widely known a business is, judged partly by how many websites link to it. A local group's directory that links to your site is one of those links.
Bettendorf in a two-state market
Bettendorf is the Iowa end of the I-74 bridge, with Moline at the Illinois end. On the city's list of states sending out-of-town visitors to the sports complex area, Illinois comes first, ahead of Iowa.
So plenty of your customers may live in Illinois, some just over the bridge and some as far away as Chicago. Google's local results weigh how far a business is from the person searching, and someone searching from Moline is closer to businesses there. What you can control is a Google profile that clearly matches what people search for. Your website should say plainly that you're in Bettendorf, Iowa, and name the Illinois towns you serve in normal sentences, not a block of town names. Our local SEO page covers working both sides of the river.
What we'd do first for a Bettendorf business
- See your listing the way a visitor does
Near your business, we search on a phone for what you sell, as someone in from Cedar Rapids would, and check whether you show up and whether the directions lead to your door. Then we fix whatever's wrong or missing in your hours, photos, menu, services and website link. More on Google Business Profile management.
- Keep up with the road work
Near I-80 and Middle Road, we keep your hours current, post an update when a route or entrance changes, and add a getting-here note to your site.
- Make every listing match
We make your name, address and phone number match exactly everywhere you're listed. Bettendorf has only one ZIP code, 52722, but postal records list more than one town name for it, so we check that each listing shows the town you're actually in. If you're downtown, we also check that the downtown directory lists you and links to your site.
- Then the website
A restaurant near the sports complex needs a site that's quick on a phone and backs up its menu, hours and directions. A contractor hoping to land work in all those new houses needs a page for each service. See website design and SEO.
If you're comparing web designers and SEO firms
A nationwide web search we ran in October 2026 for "SEO Bettendorf Iowa" gave us the thinnest results of the 16 searches we checked: three pages by firms from outside the Quad Cities (at least one a stock page repeated for city after city) and six Wikipedia articles. Put three questions to anyone you're considering: where they're located, whether someone will sit down with you in person, and whether you can phone a few references. We'd answer Silvis, yes, and not yet, because we're new. Until we have references, the free review lets you judge our work on your own site. Our guide to hiring a local SEO company covers the rest.
Start with a free website review
Use our contact form or email hello@westreddigital.com. Include your website address, a sentence about what the business does, and whether you're near the sports complex or the Middle Road work, so we know where to look first. Expect a reply within one business day. The review costs nothing, any plan and price come in writing before work starts, and whatever we build or set up stays in your name. Questions
Common questions
What should a business near the TBK Bank Sports Complex keep current on Google?
Your Google Business Profile: accurate hours, photos, your menu or service list, and directions that lead to your door. Bettendorf's 2026 State of the City address named Cedar Rapids-Waterloo-Iowa City-Dubuque, Chicago and Des Moines-Ames as the top regions sending out-of-town visitors to the complex area from 2019 through 2025, so many of the people looking you up may not know the roads. Once the profile is right, make sure your website loads quickly on a phone and says the same thing the listing does.
How should a Bettendorf business handle the Middle Road and I-80 construction online?
Keep your hours right, post an update on your Google Business Profile whenever a route or entrance changes, and add a short note to your website about the easiest way in. Then try the directions yourself on a phone. The Iowa Department of Transportation started the rebuild in November 2025 and expects to close the westbound I-80 on-ramp in spring 2027, so check again each time the work moves to a new stage.
Our address is in 52722. Should listings say Bettendorf, Riverdale or Panorama Park?
Use the name of the city your business is actually in. Riverdale and Panorama Park are separate small cities, and postal records list both as other names for 52722, so it's worth checking which one your listings show. Then write your business name, address and phone number exactly the same way on your website, your Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Yelp and every other listing.
Is the Bettendorf Business Network worth joining?
Anyone in business in Bettendorf can join as a participating member at no cost, so it's easy to try. The group holds three networking events a month and keeps a business directory, so ask whether your membership level includes a listing that links to your website. Google says how many websites link to a business is part of how well known it is, but we can't promise one listing will change where you show up. Judge the group mainly on its events and the people you meet there.
